“Don’t share your skill - you are loosing your value!”
This was told to me at several points of my life, by those that I thought had my best interest at heart. The idea is simple - if I thought others a unique skill that I had mastered, I would be diminishing my worth. Simple supply and demand.
The truth however has proven to be the opposite. By focusing on imparting my knowledge to dozens of surgeons in different continents over the last few years, my growth has been exponential.
As a trainer/proctor my short influence in a surgeons career has had the possibility to impact every single patient that the surgeon operates on from that moment forward. You have the ability and opportunity to be a key person of influence.
This was clearly evident after completing the first HOLEP workshop in Enugu, Nigeria - 11 HOLEP's in 2 days with more than 20 surgeons in attendance. As a surgeon, it is your duty to share your skill!
